WWC44 - Buffy's Anything Goes With Weddings

Welcome to our new Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week we feature a challenge that everyone loves to enter: "anything goes".  But just  to make it interesting, Buffy Cooper who has designed the challenge added "with weddings".  What does that mean?  Well, the design, the colours, everything is up to your BUT it has to follow the "wedding" or "anniversary" theme.  Buffy's wedding was in the fall and so her image gives a nod to that, but you don't have to use the colours in the image.  That's all up to you.

Simply put, it is whatever you want it to be.  Share a new technique or an old one.  Share a 3-D project.  Share a mixed media project.  Share a card, a scrapbook page, new wall decor.  Make it totally your own without a sketch direction, a color direction or an inspiration photo direction.  Just make sure you use a wedding or anniversary theme.

As a result of this "anything goes" theme, you will see that every project created by the Watercooler Artists is different.  Look closely at some of the creations.  There is a definite wedding or anniversary theme to each one.  Buffy's, for example, is a delightful wedding favour box.  For details on how Buffy and the other Watercooler Artists created their projects, just click on the name underneath and you will be taken to that blog post.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.
          2.  You must link your project back to our challenge (details at top of page).
          3.  You must link directly to your post, not simply your general blog.
          4.  Please link to no more than 4 challenges, including ours.
          5.  Have fun!

Please use the link-up below to share your project.  This Linky will close on Monday, November 30th at noon, Mountain Standard Time.

WWC43 - The Winners!

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's good to see some steady participants and some that have come back.  Colour challenges are a lot of fun, aren't they?

With such talented participants, it's never an easy task to pick our winners.  In the end, however, it was Susie Nelson's gorgeous die-cut inlay technique which stole the show.  Using the challenge colours as well as the technique put her card in the winner's circle.  Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week, Susie.

Susie, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

With only three participants and such beautifully crafted cards, we've decided not to have a runner-up but, rather, recognize both Kathe Deck and Heather Hopson for their participation.  We hope you'll proudly display the badge, shown below, on your blogs.

Please remember to come back tomorrow (November 25th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC43 - Kath's Color Challenge

Welcome to this week's Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  Kath Ricks has provided us with a selection of colors for this challenge.  There are four colors but it's surprising how those same four colors can take so many different forms depending on who is inspired by them.  With Thanksgiving coming up, you'll notice how perfect these colours can be for the holiday.  Surprisingly, they work as well for Christmas.

Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist and Crushed Curry
or similar colors if you're not using Stampin' Up!

You'll see from the wonderful variety of cards our Watercooler Artists have created how different their inspirations have been.  We have everything from greeting cards to Christmas cards and all sorts of greetings in between.  We even have a beautiful set of flowers.  And the styles, even though they all use the same colors, are so very varied.  As usual, you can click on the name under the card to go to the blog post and discover all the details about the products and creation of the card.  Let's begin with Kath's beautiful greeting card.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

WWC42 - Bev's Photo Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to our new challenge.  This week Bev has provided us with a Photo Inspiration Challenge.  What does that mean?  It means you get to look at Bev's awesome photo and take inspiration from the colours, the composition, the individual objects in the photo or anything else that inspires you to create a card for the challenge.

Aren't the colours in the photo wonderful?  If you look closely, there is even some silver in that corner lamp and a touch of gold in the chandelier.  Think of the infinite varieties of cards you could create using this photo as your inspiration.  Below, you'll see Bev's beautiful card as well as those created by the other Watercooler Artists.  Some have used the colours alone as their inspiration, some have used the flourishes, some the geometric shapes.  Their cards should get your creative juices flowing and encourage you to link your own card up to our challenge.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

WWC41 - The Winners!

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's nice to see some  steady participants and some that have come back.  Sketch challenges are always fun.

With such talented participants, it's never an easy task to pick our winners.  In the end, however, it was Gail Allen's wonderful card which put her ahead in the votes.  That subtle touch of Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery put her card in the winner's circle.  Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week, Gail.

Gail, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Our runner-up this week is Betty Lee's wonderful card.  The colours, textures and, of course, the bling put this card over the top.

Betty Lee, we hope you'll display your runner-up's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Thank you Susie and Heather for submitting your beautiful cards for Jackie's sketch challenge.  It was very difficult to make the final choices for the winners.  Please remember to come back tomorrow (November 11th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC41 - Jackie's Sketch Challenge

Welcome to our new Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  This week we feature a sketch by Jackie Susnik.  It's a deceptively easy sketch which allows for a whole range of interpretations.

You will see that every project created by the Watercooler Artists is different.  It's not just the colours and stamps that are different but even the shapes have their own interpretations.  You don't have to use that circle or star.  As long as your interpretation is recognizably this sketch, we encourage you to link it up.  For details on how Jackie and the other Watercooler Artists created their projects, just click on the name underneath and you will be taken to that blog post.

WWC40 - The Winners!

I have to apologize.  I left the house this morning secure in the knowledge that when I schedule a post, it posts.  I just returned to the house and checked this site only to discover there was no "winners' post".  Upon checking, I further discovered that rather than having scheduled the post, I had left it as a draft.  Here it is, late but we have winners to announce.

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's clear from the larger number of participants that "anything goes" is a popular challenge.  It's fun to see, as we try out various types of challenges, which ones appeal to people and which ones are just "so-so".  On to the voting.

Picking our winner this week was hard because of the terrific cards everyone created.  In the end, however, it was Susie Nelson's wonderful card which put her ahead in the votes.  That "smoosh" of green really created an original background.   Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week,

Susie, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Our runner-up this week is Kathe Deck's wonderful card.  It wasn't easy planning a card around "holly" but she managed it beautifully.  We especially loved the elegance of the white berries.

Kathe, we hope you'll display your runner-up's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Thank you Lynn, Heather and Vicki for submitting your wonderfully elegant holly cards.  It was very difficult to make the final choices for the winners.  Please remember to come back tomorrow (November 4th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.
