WWC48 - Heidi's "Anything Goes--with Snow" Challenge

Before we get into our new challenge, it's time to say good-bye to two of our talented Watercooler Artists.  We will definitely miss their wonderful projects and inspirational challenges.  Their lives have, however, become so busy that they each feel it's time to take a step back.  We all know how that can be.

Buffy Cooper

Susan Horr

Buffy and Susan have been with us since the beginning of our challenge.  They will be missed.

And now to Challenge WWC48

Yes, it's time for another "anything goes" challenge and this time Heidi is challenging us to include a bit of snow in our projects.  Whether it's a snowflake, a blizzard or anything in between, as long as there is some snow to be seen, the project is eligible for our new challenge.

Yes, that's a snow globe in the photo but it's only there to show off the snow.  Of course that doesn't mean you can't use a snow globe if that's your inspiration.  As you will see from the wonderful variety of projects which our Watercooler Artists have created, there are many ways to include snow.  As usual, you can click on the name under the card to go to the blog post and discover all the details about the products and creation of the card.  Let's begin with Heidi's elegant Christmas card.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.  Please note that this challenge will extend over two weeks to allow time to enjoy the holidays.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.
          2.  You must link your project back to our challenge (details at top of page).
          3.  You must link directly to your post, not simply your general blog.
          4.  Please link to no more than 4 challenges, including ours.
          5.  Have fun!

Please use the link-up below to share your project.  This Linky will close on Monday, January 4th, at noon Mountain Standard Time.

WWC47 -- The Winners!

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's good to see some steady participants and some that have come back.  Colour challenges are a lot of fun, aren't they?  And Marsha's colour inspiration picture really provided some wonderful inspiration.

With such talented participants, it's never an easy task to pick our winners.  In the end, however, it was Deborah Smart's gorgeous flight through the blues, introducing the Sky is the Limit Sale-a-bration stamp set, which stole the show.  That bi-plane, the watercolour background and the heat embossing put her card in the winner's circle.  Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week, Deb.

Deb, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

With only three participants and such beautifully crafted cards, we wound up with another tie and simply settled it by awarding each with our "Honourable Mention" badge.

Susie Nelson                                 Heather Hopson

Susie and Heather, we hope you'll proudly display the badge, shown below, on your blogs.

Please remember to come back tomorrow (December 23rd) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC47 - Marsha's Color Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to this week's Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  Marsha Reed has provided us with a beautiful inspiration photo for this challenge.  This photo and color swatch are ours to use thanks to Design Seeds.  You'll see a wonderful variety of projects created using these colors, for all sorts of occasions.  Surprisingly, they work beautifully for Christmas as well.

You'll see from the wonderful variety of cards our Watercooler Artists have created how different their inspirations have been.  We have everything from greeting cards to Christmas cards and all sorts of greetings in between.  We even have a beautiful birthday gift bag.  And the styles, even though they all use similar colors, are so very varied.  As usual, you can click on the name under the card to go to the blog post and discover all the details about the products and creation of the card.  Let's begin with Marsha's elegant greeting card.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.

WWC46 - The Winners

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's nice to see some  new names among the participants.  Jean's CAS masculine challenge was a lot of fun, wasn't it?

With such talented participants, it's never an easy task to pick our winners.  In the end, however, it was Leanne Johnson's stunning card which put her ahead in the votes.  That vellum propeller as well as the vellum embossed with clouds and set over the embossed circle put her card in the winner's circle.  Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week, Leanne.

Leanne, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Picking our runner-up was a more difficult decision.  In fact we almost wound up with a tie but a late vote made the decision for us.  Congratulations to Heather Hopson for her wonderful card.  That motorcycle and keeping the card primarily black and white with a touch of red made for a great masculine card.

Heather,  we hope you'll display your runner-up's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Thank you Deborah, Susie, and Tania for submitting your beautiful cards for Jean's CAS challenge.  Keeping it clean and simple is never an easy task.  Please remember to come back tomorrow (December 16th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC46 - Jean's Masculine CAS Challenge

Welcome to our new Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  This week we feature a type of challenge we haven't posted before, and that's Jean's CAS challenge.  What is CAS?  CAS is an acronym for "clean and simple".  Generally speaking that would mean keeping layers to a minimum, leaving quite a lot of white space, and having no embellishments or a minimal number.  White space does not have to be white.  It can be whatever colour the mean layer of the card happens to be.  Is that as clear as mud?  Jean has tweaked her CAS challenge just a bit more by making it a masculine challenge.

Doesn't that look debonair?  You will find, as you look through the wonderful samples our Watercooler Artists have created, that there are a great many ways to create a CAS card.  And then, when you are filled to the brim with inspiration, create your own CAS card and link it up for us to see.  For details on how Jean and the other Watercooler Artists created their projects, just click on the name underneath and you will be taken to that blog post.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

WWC45 - The Winners!

It's that time again.  Today we pick our winners.  It's nice to see some  new names among the participants.  Sketch challenges are always fun.

With such talented participants, it's never an easy task to pick our winners.  In the end, however, it was Jenny Engelke's elegant card which put her ahead in the votes.  That vellum and foil background and bold red foil girdle put her card in the winner's circle.  Congratulations for "rocking the Watercooler" this week, Jenny.

Jenny, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Picking our runner-up was a more difficult decision.  In fact we wound up with a tie and therefore will have two runners-up this week.  Congratulations to Kathe Deck and Betty Lee for their wonderful cards.  While they are both very different, they each added a bit of whimsy to their cards which we truly enjoyed.

Kathe and Betty, we hope you'll display your runner-up's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Thank you Susie, Heather and Louise for submitting your beautiful cards for Susan's sketch challenge.  It was very difficult to make the final choices for the winners.  Please remember to come back tomorrow (December 8th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC45 - Susan's Sketch Challenge

Welcome to our new Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  This week we feature a sketch by Susan Horr.  It's a deceptively easy sketch which allows for a whole range of interpretations.

You will see that every card created by the Watercooler Artists is different.  It's not just the colours and stamps that are different but even the shapes have their own interpretations.  You don't have to use that rounded rectangle or label.  As long as your interpretation is recognizably this sketch, we encourage you to link it up.  For details on how Susan and the other Watercooler Artists created their projects, just click on the name underneath and you will be taken to that blog post.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.
