WWC65 - Anything Goes

WooHoo!  It's time for another "Anything Goes" challenge.  This is a great time to showcase one of the cards you haven't posted yet.  Something you created for a class or for someone close to you.  A little 3-D project you've made.  Even a card you've made for another challenge.  Of course, when you see the wonderful cards created by our Watercooler Artists, you may be inspired to make a brand new card for this challenge.  As we said, anything goes.

What is Anything Goes?  It is simply a project which you have created and wish to share.  There are no restrictions or rules.  That's what this week's challenge is all about.  Enjoy sharing your wonderful creations.  We look forward to the surprises.  Here are a few projects created by the Watercooler Artists in the order in which they were submitted.  As usual, by clicking on the name below the project, you will go directly to that person's blog post.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.
          2.  You must link your project back to our challenge (details at top of page).
          3.  You must link directly to your post, not simply your general blog.
          4.  Please link to no more than 4 challenges, including ours.
          5.  Have fun!

Please use the link-up below to share your project.  This Linky will close on Monday, May 2nd at noon Mountain Standard Time.

WWC64 - The Winner

It's that time again, the day we pick our winners.  It's good to see so many familiar names among the link-ups, coming back to join the challenges.  CAS challenges have a few more rules but it's great to see so many participating.  We had some excellent examples of clean and simple from which to choose.

The way we choose the winner for the CAS challenge is to first see which cards clearly follow the guidelines provided at the beginning of the challenge.  After that we make our choices based on the artistry and other such subjective attributes of the cards.  As a result, our winner this week is Heather.  It's hard to believe your lovely card took a mere 3 minutes to complete.

Heather, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

It was difficult to choose our Honourable Mentions since there was such a variety of styles to choose from.  When the challenge is for "clean and simple", you always have to keep those parameters in mind.  The two cards that squeaked past the rest were Kathe's and Fiona's.  Both showed a classic clean and simple format but were so different.

Kathe and Fiona, we hope you'll each proudly display the badge, shown below, on your blogs.

A special thank you as well to Julie, Louise, Heather and Betty for linking their wonderful cards.

Please remember to come back tomorrow (April 27th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC64 - Heidi's CAS to Cebrate Spring Challenge

It's time for another challenge and this week Heidi Weaver has created a CAS (clean and simple) challenge which is all about Spring.  A lot of people find this type of card very difficult.  What is clean and simple?  According to the challenges which host only CAS (clean and simple), this is what one aims to do:  CAS (acronym for "clean and simple":  A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments, most often single layered or minimal layers.

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2016/04/wwc64-heidis-cas-to-cebrate-spring.html

Do all those coloured squares in the challenge picture mean anything?  Nope!  They're just there to dress up the picture a bit.   Just so we're clear on the "white space".  This can be any colour.  For example, Jean has used a coloured base and then added embossing.  For her card, the colour is the "white space" and the simplicity of her design is clearly CAS.  As usual, you can click on the name under the card to go to the blog post and discover all the details about the products and creation of the card.  Let's begin with Heidi's "hello" to Springtime:

WWC63 - The Winner!

It's that time again.  Today we post our winners for Kath's color challenge.  With a color challenge it's not always easy to figure out how to use the challenge palette without using any other colour than a neutral such as a black, grey or white.  They really do force a crafter to think outside the box and use colors they might not otherwise use together.  Well, we had some wonderful cards submitted for this challenge which used the colors in a variety of ways.  And with such wonderful cards, there is always the difficulty of choosing the winners.

In the end it came down to Penny Hanuszak's magical colouring with her Stampin' Markers and Blender Pen.  Click on Penny's name below her card to see the stunning set of cards she created using Kath's colors.

Penny, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

It was also difficult to choose our Honourable Mentions since there were such great cards to choose from this week.   The two cards that squeaked past the rest were Julie Gearinger's and Heather Hopson's beautiful cards.

Julie and Heather, we hope you'll each proudly display the badge, shown below, on your blogs.

And, a special thank you as well to Susie, Louise, Betty and Kathe for linking their wonderful cards.

Please remember to come back tomorrow (April 20th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the awesome creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC63 - Kath's Color Challenge

Woo Hoo!  It's a color challenge and I know everyone loves those.  This week Kath Ricks has put together four gorgeous colours with which we can create some wonderful projects.  Are you up for the challenge?

Colour challenges force one to use just the colours in the challenge, plus a neutral which is "free".  It's not always easy to stay within the palette, but that's why we have challenges---to force ourselves to work outside our comfortable "boxes".  You're going to see some wonderfully varied and diverse creations when you scroll through the Watercooler Artists' projects.  We hope they will get your creative juices flowing so that you will join us and link up your own project this week.  We begin with the hostess of this challenge, Kath Ricks.  As usual you will be able to check out her blog and those of the other Watercooler Artists by clicking on the name under the card.

          5.  Have fun!

WWC62 - The Winner!

It's that time again.  Today we post our winners.  It's good to see new names among the familiar names linking up and joining our challenges.  Tic Tac Toe challenges offer the luxury of choices.  We had such fun seeing the various combinations which were picked for the linked up cards.  There were some fabulous cards from which to choose.  That's great for the challenge but really tough on the team as we got to work picking winners.  No random draws here.  We check out all the cards and then each vote for our top choices.

As difficult as it is to have such a great selection from which to pick our winners, in the end it was Louise Cyr's card that stole the show.  The lovely Z-fold and striking colours gave this card the edge it needed to win.

Louise, we hope you'll display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

It was difficult to choose our Honourable Mentions since there were such great cards to choose from this week.   The two cards that squeaked past the rest were Fiona Whitehead's and Kathe Deck's.

Fiona and Kathe, we hope you'll each proudly display the badge, shown below, on your blogs.

And, a special thank you as well to Susie and Heather for linking their wonderful cards.

Please remember to come back tomorrow (April 13th) for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC62 - Leanne's Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Guess what!  We're having another Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and this one is hosted by Leanne Johnson.  The great thing about Leanne's Tic-Tac-Toe, is that she has combined a few fun technique options so that if you feel like doing a bit more, you have that option and if you just want to stay with a less complicated card, you can choose that option.  Aren't Tic-Tac-Toe challenges great?

Most people know how a Tic-Tac-Toe game is played:  you pick a line of three squares in a row which can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.  The only rule is that the squares must be three in a row.  If you have a look at Leanne's Tic-Tac-Toe diagram, you can see all the fun choices.

You'll see from the wonderful variety of cards our Watercooler Artists have created how different their choices have been.  The variations are simply incredible.  As usual, you can click on the name under the card to go to the blog post and discover all the details about the products and creation of the card.  Let's begin with Leanne's fun fold card:
