WWC83 - Penny's Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Aren't Tic-Tac-Toe Challenges fun?  This week Penny Hanuszak has put together such a lot of fun possibilities with her challenge.  Remember, you have to choose three in a row, vertically, horizontally or diagonally, but if you're like the Watercooler Artists, you probably won't be able to pass up adding a few of the other choices.  It's all good, as long as you have at least one line of three in a row.

Ready to create and link-up?  Want a bit more inspiration?  Just check out the terrific "tree" versions which inspired our samples this week.  As usual, if you click on the name under each card, you can visit the blog post to see details on how the card was created.  We begin with Penny's wonderful double-Z fold birthday celebration card.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.
          2.  You must link your project back to our challenge (details at top of page).
          3.  You must link directly to your post, not simply your general blog.
          4.  Please link to no more than 4 challenges, including ours.
          5.  Have fun!

Simply use the link-up below to share your project.  This Linky will close on Monday, September 5th at noon Mountain Daylight Time.

WWC82 - The Winner

Drum roll, please!  It's time to announce the winner for Libby's Tree Theme Challenge.  Libby's pick was Char Leasor's beautiful tropical card.  For her tree, Char showcased a palm tree silhouetted against a wonderful sunset.  Congratulations, Char.

Char, we hope you will display your winner's badge, shown below, proudly on your blog.

Since we only had four cards linked up this week, the Watercooler Artists decided to pick just one Honourable Mention.  Congratulations, therefore, to Sheri L. for her amazing masculine birthday shaker card showcasing the classic "Lovely as a Tree".

Sheri, we hope you'll proudly display the badge shown below on your blog.

And thank you to Heather and Mary for sharing their wonderful cards.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow, August 31st, for the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge and the wonderful creations by the Watercooler Artists.

WWC82 - Libby's "Trees" Theme Challenge

Woo Hoo!  It's a Theme challenge and I know everyone loves those.  They're just one step removed from an "anything goes".  This week Libby Fens, our hostess, has decided to feature "trees".  Do you have any idea of how many great tree stamps, embossing folders and dies there are in our Stampin' Up! catalogue?  The Watercooler Artists certainly found out when looking for inspiration for their cards.  And if you consider all the tree stamps, embossing folders and dies that are made by other companies, it takes one's breath away.

As you can see, all you have to do is decide on your own "tree" and use that to feature in your card this week.  Ready to create and link-up?  Want a bit more inspiration?  Just check out the terrific "tree" versions which inspired our samples this week.  As usual, if you click on the name under each card, you can visit the blog post to see details on how the card was created.  We begin with Libby's look up into a tree's branches.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

WWC81 - Gail's Color Challenge

Welcome to another challenge with our Watercooler Artists.  This week it's a terrific Color Challenge hosted by Gail Allen.  Remember, they're Stampin' Up! colors, but don't let that scare you away.  You can use another company's to create your card as long as they are similar to the challenge colors.  Are you up for the challenge?

Colour challenges force one to use only the colors in the challenge (plus a neutral, of course).   It's not always easy to stay within the palette, but that's why we have challenges---to force ourselves to work outside our comfortable "boxes".

We have some great samples created by the Watercooler Artists to get your creative juices flowing.  As usual, if you click on the name under each card, you can visit the blog post to see details on how the card was created.   We begin with Gail's wonderful emboss resist technique, using all the colours in a very unique way.

And now it's your turn.  You can join us by linking up your creation with the InLinkz at the bottom of this challenge.

Remember:
          1.  This must be a new project---no back-linking to a previous post.

WWC80 - No Winners Today and Other News

Although I've posted that there are no winners for this challenge because there were only two link-ups and we require three to choose a winner, we consider both Fiona Weatherhead and Heather Hopson to be winners for the Water themed Clean & Simple challenge.

Fiona and Heather, your cards were stellar!  It would have been a hard task to choose between you, despite your very different styles and cards.  Each, in its own way, was a perfect example of what we were looking for with this challenge.  Kudos to you both!  Thanks for your continued participation.

We've saved the best news for last.  Penny Hanuszak has agreed to become a permanent member of the Watercooler Artists' team.  You'll already have fallen in love with Penny's wonderful style and gorgeous cards.  It is a pleasure to know she will be staying with us.

We hope everyone will join us tomorrow, August 17th, for our new challenge.

WWC80 - Heidi's Clean & Simple "Water" Theme Challenge

The hostess for today's Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is Heidi Weaver!  Heidi is presenting a clean and simple challenge with a "water" theme.  Clean and simple is a much debated technique, but for this challenge it is cut and dry.  Our Watercooler Artists' team got together and created the following rule of thumb:

Either a single layer upon which we stamp or a base with a single layer upon which we stamp. Since we use embellishments for any other type of card, no embellishments or die-cuts or anything except the simplicity of stamping for the "clean & simple". That gives a clear reason for its name. And what is simpler than stamping? That will allow heat embossing since, if one decides to use a colour, heat embossing would show better than simple stamping. But no e f embossing. Clean and simple.

It's easy to follow and gives you a good idea of what we'll be looking for if you link up to our challenge.

There are lots of different ways in which you can use water for your creation.  You can see from all the wonderful sample created by our Watercooler Artists, just how varied simple stamping can be.  As usual, if you click on the name under each card, you can visit the blog post to see details on how the card was created.   We begin with Heidi's water scene:
